Dance Together
Class
This intergenerational dance class is an introduction to Afro-Peruvian culture and includes Creative Dance and Afro-Peruvian dance concepts. Participants will experience learning about Afro-Peruvian culture through movement joined by the live beats of the Cajon. They will learn a dance routine for the Festejo, the most popular Afro-Peruvian rhythm, danced in any type of celebration due to its festive nature. Class is geared for kids up to 6 years old and their adults. This interactive experience encourages family bonding while exploring cultural traditions through movement and music, making it a fun and educational activity for children and their caregivers.
Cajon Circle
Class
This engaging class offers participants of all ages an opportunity to explore the vibrant history of the Afro-Peruvian Cajón while learning to play a variety of Afro-Peruvian and Latin rhythms. Participants will connect these rhythms to Spanish syllables and words, enriching their cultural understanding through music and language. With Cajons provided for everyone, the session promises a lively, inclusive, and fun environment where all can join in the rhythmic experience, making it an ideal activity for families, individuals, or groups interested in exploring Afro-Peruvian musical traditions.

Performance
This engaging interactive performance invites audiences of all ages to immerse themselves in the vibrant world of Afro-Peruvian culture, where they can experience unique rhythms, instruments, and dances such as Zamacueca, Zapateo, and Festejo. Participants will not only listen to the rich musical heritage but also engage firsthand with the rhythms and learn about the fascinating history behind these cultural expressions, creating a dynamic and educational experience that celebrates Afro-Peruvian traditions.
